"Whimpy"

Not an unusual story ... I wanted a Great Dane and my husband did not. I had previously owned a Great Dane and was bound and determined to have another. Finally I convinced my husband, and like they say, the rest is history.

Our first Dane together was a sweet fawn bitch named "Whimpy". And for a man that NEVER wanted a Great Dane, it was love at first site.

Since that time we have had as many as 12 Great Danes at one time, and since the early days with "Whimpy", we have learned the meaning of all of the important words like, temperament, tail set, croup, topline and rear, just to name a few!

Our "Show Beginnings" soon followed when we bred "Whimpy" to a nice stud dog owned by Don and Jane Potter of Don J Dania Kennels. When the puppies were born, Mr. & Mrs. Potter felt that two of the puppies were of show quality. Tom & I did not want to get into the "SHOW RING" ... famous last words.

The Potters showed "Zackery" and "Sunshine" and from that time on, the "show bug" bit us! That was 10 years ago. "Whimpy" is gone now, as are "Zackery" and "Sunshine", but our lives will never be the same because of them. Oh how they are missed, but through their get, we continue to love and learn from them.

We've had 8 litters of puppies in that 10 years, improving each time on what we started with. We now have 3 new "Puppy Hopefuls", all sired by "Ch. Sarjack's Ain't Whistlin' Dixie". Keep an eye on these superior Danes in the show ring.
